No More Picture With A Dead Body (2009)
Live installation, dimensions variable
In this staged situation, four performers are lying on the ground. Their heartbeats trigger the four camera shutters and flashes. A microphone attached to the camera bodies amplifies the sound of releasing the shutters. Instead of the performers being the subjects of the cameras, their heartbeats trigger the professional DSLR cameras and capture images of the audience in the exhibition space. The audience becomes the protagonist. Their images are captured, while the performers are left out of the image. Living human bodies are necessary for the work to be active, and the differing heart rates of the performers make specific rhythms as each camera opens and closes its shutter.
